|| STATEMENT
In this exhibition, I will present a series of landscape paintings that I have been working on since I first began creating art. These works include two-dimensional pieces derived from drawings made during visits to various locations, as well as poems that I have framed as landscapes. For me, poetry is not an expression of emotion, but of purely imagery. Through the creative process, I hope that the landscapes before me will transform from mere scenery into something intimate.
In the modern era, landscapes have been fragmented and are now perceived from multiple perspectives. For people living in cities, landscapes might be the street with trees or the scenery of a shopping district. I would like to depict primal, experiential landscapes—those deeply significant scenes embedded in our memories. Painting landscapes is an attempt to bridge the individual with the world. Through this act, we can bring ourselves back to the moments that unfold before us.

To Prepare Landscape
In an event inspired by the outdoor tea ceremony, “nodate,” Roy Taro will have a live painting performance. Yoshitaka Michihata, who will serve coffee and cakes as part of the reception.The performance will take place in the gallery space, where the artworks will evoke the environment of an outdoor, with Michihata offering a moment of refreshment.Following the performance, a non-alcoholic reception will be held.
